Movement of the General Director

The General Director of the OAC, Konstantinos Zormpas, participated in the inauguration of the renovated library of the Philological Association of Kissamos (29/11/14).

In his speech, Mr. Zormpas stressed, among others, that ‘by inaugurating a library, we inaugurate a school, and by inaugurating a school, we create competent citizens with knowledge and values useful for society’.

Mr. Zormpas requested that the library of the Philological Association be twinned with the library of the Philological Association of the OAC ‘The Light’ and that they cooperate on joint actions, contributing to the expansion of knowledge and the spiritual cultivation of the broader area.

Moreover, the General Director of the OAC participated as a speaker in the presentation of the book authored by the political scientist - International Relations expert, Giannis Mitsios entitled ‘The bet of the Renaissance. The international environment, Europe and the future of Greece’, which was presented at the Center for Mediterranean Architecture (30/11/2014).

Mr. Zormpas elaborated on aspects of the book pertaining to the relationship between politics and religion in the new European state of affairs. The following speakers also participated: Antonis Skamnakis, Journalism Professor, and Pantelis Petzetakis, President of the Economic Chamber of Western Crete.

The event was coordinated by Katerina Zobanaki. During the event, talks were also delivered on behalf of the Region by Regional Councilor Olga Levaki and Vice-Mayor of Chania Manolis Adontakis, while part of yesterday’s sales of the book, which is published by Melpomeni Dioti, was offered to a welfare organization in Chania.
