International Physics Conference
Thursday, August 17, 2017
An International Physics Conference is to be held at the Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAC) from 16 August to 29 August 2017. More specifically, within the framework of the 6th International Conference on New Frontiers in Physics (ICNFP 2017), which places particular emphasis on interdisciplinarity, internationally-recognised scientists and postgraduate students will discuss subjects from various branches of physics, such as the physics of heavy ions, nuclear physics, the physics of elemental particles, astrophysics and cosmology. In addition, scientists from related disciplines will participate, including mathematics, mathematical physics, quantum optics, and so on.
It is worth noting that this year, for the first time, two major workshops will be held on the subject of the foundations of quantum physics by Professor Yakir Aharonov from the Chapman University in the US and Tel Aviv University, Israel, as well as Professor Natalia Korolkova from the University of St. Andrews in the United Kingdom. Professor Aharonov is well-known in the scientific world for the "Aharonov-Bohm Effect" and has won many medals and awards, one of which is the Wolf Award (1998), while Professor Korolkova was, among other things, a special scientific associate at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany.
